Shoreditch

The Light Bar in Shoreditch pays homage to the borough’s 1900 motto of “more light, more power.” Housed in a Victorian power station built in 1893, the bar has a double-height space with remarkable industrial features that reflect its pioneering role in the development of electric power in London. The original concrete floors, exposed steelwork, and glazed brick walls were preserved to help customers engage with its Victorian engineering past. The addition of a mezzanine and a cocktail-focused Copper Bar enables The Light Bar to trade across three floors, linked by a bespoke feature steel staircase. The design features teal and green accent colours, marble bar counters, bespoke mid-century inspired furniture, lush planting, and a mix of festoon ceiling lighting, feature wall fixtures, and discreet architectural illumination to create warmth and intimacy in the evening.
