In Manchester’s beautiful Grade II* listed Elliot House built in the latter part of Victoria’s reign, we delivered a space inspired by the grand cafés of Europe which followed soon after. By day, abundant natural light bathes delicate glass, brass work, antiqued bronze and patterned marble. By night, that rich, warm palette communicates quality and sophistication, accentuating the building’s classical/baroque references. An island bar, crowned by a glowing stained glass pelmet, boldly commands the heart of the space while an open kitchen and pass to the rear lends an added layer of theatre, vibrancy and intrigue.
